Awesome. I really like the reference to drag. Recently I’ve noticed that there are a lot more robust creations of ego-ideals on the right than there is on the left. And with this follows a lot of fortifying and transformative potential, not to mention enjoyment, when one becomes this ideal via a sort of sigil-ising drag. Its weakness will be in making ossified totems of the otherwise transient dragginess (authoritarianism etc).
But now I’m wondering what the left can draggy up in order to work through certain limits. I’m trying to imagine an ironically woke drag princess (not queen). The enjoyment in ‘being good’ is forclosed often by the beautiful soul of the left, which is giving me visions of a sleeping beauty sort surrounded by cartoonish birds.
